121. 41. 85. 27. Final

Wednesday night the New York Knicks took on the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. The defending NBA Champions are undefeated at home this season.

Surprisingly, New York was able to hold Golden State scoreless for the first three minutes and 48 seconds of the game. The Knicks forced the Warriors to miss their first-six shot attempts of the game, and caused a couple of turnovers from Andrew Bogut.

Unfortunately… that was as about as good as it got for the Knicks… Despite the Warriors’ woes, New York was only up 4-0…

Golden State finally broke the seal 8:12 remaining in the first quarter with Stephen Curry probing the defense, connecting with Bogut on an ally-opp dunk, and the Warriors were off and running from there on out!

Golden State went on a 13-2 run and never looked back! The Warriors would finish the opening period on four straight three-point field goals (including three straight triples from Curry), which gave Golden State a 31-19 lead after one quarter of play.

Even with the poor start, the Warriors ended up shooting 52.2% from the field in the first quarter… they are just completely unreal…

The Warriors would go up by as many as 20 points in the second quarter, with Klay Thompson leading the way, scoring nine of his total 19 points in the period. All of which were three-pointers… The “splash brothers” is just impossible to stop. Golden State’s starting backcourt average 52.4 points per game, making ten three-pointers a game… THAT IS JUST NOT FAIR to the rest of the league!

The Warriors continued to outplay the Knicks despite being up huge in the third quarter, growing their lead to as much as 33 points in the period. Curry continued his onslaught, scoring 13 of his game-high 34 points in the third quarter. Including banking in a three-pointer that beat the buzzer late in the period…

The fourth quarter was complete garbage time as the Warriors won the game 121-85. Golden State improved their record to 61-6, as they continue to march on their journey to the best record in NBA history.

Kristaps Porzingis really struggled against Draymond Green Wednesday night. Porzingis finished the game shooting 1-for-10 from the field, scoring only a measly two points. The 7’3″ Latvian got his jump-shot blocked by the 6’7″ product from Michigan State University to start the game… and then got stripped later on a two on one fast break. Green physically just took Porzingis out of his game…

Golden State starters out-scored the New York’s starters 77-28! Carmelo Anthony was the lone-starter in double-figures with 18 points… The rest of the starters shot 18.5% from the field… converting on only five field goals Wednesday night…

One thing to note was that starting point guard Jose Calderon injured his right knee after taking hard screen from Green. Which as horrible as it sounds, might be a blessing in disguise. Maybe this will finally create the opportunity to throw Jerian Grant to the wolves, and see what the young man can do for the Knicks. See if he is a player capable of handling the point guard duties in the future.

As per New York’s public relations, X-rays were negative for the starting point guard.

The Knicks will get a good amount of time off, as their next game will be Saturday night against the Washington Wizards. Hopefully they will rest up and be ready for yet another spectacular point guard, and another dynamic duo.
