After being without RJ Barrett on Monday in Boston, New York Knicks fans hoped he'd feel well enough for Wednesday's game in Atlanta. He was listed as questionable leading up to the matchup before he was ruled out.
Barrett has been dealing with a migraine (subscription required), one that's kept him from practicing or playing. He's still traveling with the team. Including Friday's In-Season Tournament stop in D.C., there are still three games left on New York's road trip.
The Knicks pulled out a 116-114 win over the Hawks behind Julius Randle's 29 points (12-of-24), 10 rebounds, and eight assists. After going scoreless in the second quarter, Jalen Brunson turned it up in crunch time to finish with 24 points (8-of-19).
Barrett isn't the only starter on the injury report. In the second half against Atlanta, Quentin Grimes hurt his left wrist and immediately left the game to go to the locker room. He was ruled out shortly after that.
Grimes was diagnosed with a sprained left wrist, but it's a good sign that he hasn't officially been ruled out for Friday's game.
