The United States and Canada suffered back-to-back losses on Friday and will play for bronze on Sunday at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. New York Knicks fans will see Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and RJ Barrett play against each other, although it won’t be in the final.

Ahead of the first NFL Sunday of the season, the U.S. and Canada will tip off at 4:30 a.m. ET before the championship is held between Germany and Serbia at 8:40 a.m. ET.

RJ Barrett and Canada will have the chance to record their first-ever men’s podium finish at the World Cup. After getting outplayed by Germany, Brunson, Hart, and the United States will try to end the tournament on a high note.

For the Knicks fans who are willing to wake up extra early, the game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPN+. Check out fuboTV for a free seven-day trial.

The game won’t be as important as a final matchup would’ve been, but it’ll still be interesting to see the countries clash against each other. Anthony Edwards and Shai-Gilgeous Alexander have been two of the World Cup’s top performers, and Edwards nearly led the United States to the final while SGA had an off night against Serbia.

RJ Barrett said a few days ago he hadn’t spoken to Jalen Brunson or Josh Hart at the World Cup but that he did wish the point guard a happy birthday on August 31. Expect that trio to have fun trash-talking each other a few weeks before they retake the floor as teammates.

While Brunson and Hart have been benched down the stretch in the United States’ last few games, Barrett’s coming off two solid performances for Canada. He scored a game-high 23 points (8-of-14), three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in the loss to Germany. Barrett could finish the summer off strong with an impressive stat line against the U.S.
