New York Knicks free agent signings, live tracker, grades
Nearly a year has passed since the New York Knicks made not only the best signing in 2022 free agency but the best free agency signing in the organization’s history by inking Jalen Brunson to a four-year, $104 million deal. The Knicks won’t come close to topping that this year, but after making it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time in 10 years, New York is in a good position this offseason.
The Knicks have access to the midlevel exception thanks to Josh Hart exercising his player option, meaning that New York can sign a player using the MLE, such as Donte DiVincenzo.
The front office could also free up space by either waiving the non-guaranteed contracts of Jericho Sims ($1.9 million), DaQuan Jeffries ($2.1 million), and Isaiah Roby ($2.1 million) or by offloading Obi Toppin ($6.8 million) and/or Evan Fournier ($18.9 million) in a trade.

Josh Hart would’ve become an unrestricted free agent if he would’ve declined his $12.96 million player option for 2023-24, but he picked it up on Thursday evening.
The Knicks have extended a qualifying offer to Trevor Keels, a league source tells The Athletic. Keels will now be a restricted free agent this summer. He was on a two-way with the Knicks this past season.

San Francisco Chronicles’ C.J. Holmes reported (subscription required) that the Knicks are the favorites to sign guard Donte DiVincenzo. The 26-year-old declined his $4.7 million player option for 2023-24. He signed a two-year, $9.3 million contract with the Warriors in free agency last summer.
Update: Grizzlies sign Derrick Rose to two-year, $6.5 million deal
Derrick Rose’s second stint in New York has officially come to an end as he’ll head to Memphis to be Ja Morant’s backup. Morant is suspended for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 season, so Rose will likely start the season as the team’s starting point guard.
Update: Knicks sign Donte DiVincenzo to four-year, $50 million deal
Over 24 hours after free agency began, the Knicks and Donte DiVincenzo agreed to a four-year, $50 million deal. New York now has three players from Villanova’s 2016 championship team on the roster.
