After falling to the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Playoffs this past season, the New York Knicks have to feel good about where they stand heading into the offseason.

It was the first time they’d been past the first round since 2012-13 and the second time since the 1999-00 season. This team is in a position to contend for years to come, and they could certainly strengthen that notion by making some moves this offseason. That will include deciding what to do with some of their impending free agents, whether they decide to let them walk or keep them. With that said, let us predict where each of those free agents will play in 2023-24.

Trevor Keels – New York Knicks

The Knicks took Trevor Keels in the second round of last year’s draft and inked him to a two-way deal. Keels appeared in just three games with the Knicks for a total of eight minutes. While he did not play much with the Knicks, Keel put up some solid numbers in the G League.

At 19 years old, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard is still raw, but he’s got potential. The Knicks should look to keep him around in the G League to continue developing him.

Duane Washington Jr. – New York Knicks

After being waived by the Phoenix Suns, Duane Washington Jr. inked a two-way contract with the Knicks. While he did not appear in a contest for the Knicks, Washington played five games for their G League counterpart, the Westchester Knicks.

In those games, he averaged 16.6 points and 2.8 assists per game. The 23-year-old showed some legitimate potential, and the Knicks should keep him around. Whether it’s in the G League or with the actual team, Washington could become a solid piece if given the opportunity.
