Ahead of a do-or-die game for the New York Knicks on Wednesday, the NBA announced the 2022-23 All-NBA Teams. As many Knicks fans expected, Julius Randle earned a Third Team All-NBA spot after averaging a career-high 25.1 points, 10 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 77 games.

The news couldn’t have come at a better time for Randle, who has struggled throughout the postseason. It didn’t help that he ended the regular season with a sprained left ankle and reaggravated the injury in New York’s Game 5 series win over Cleveland. His best game of the semifinals happened in Game 2, but in Game 5, he posted a solid stat line of 24 points (7-of-13), five rebounds, and five assists. He even threw a black eye in there, too.

After the Knicks’ 112-103 win, Randle was asked about earning All-NBA honors for the second time in three seasons. RJ Barrett seemed to be more excited about it than Randle.

Randle wasn’t the only Knicks player that got banged up on Wednesday. Late in the fourth quarter, Quentin Grimes banged knees with Bam Adebayo and still managed to recover enough to steal the ball from Jimmy Butler. Grimes and Jalen Brunson played in all 48 minutes, and afterward, Grimes summed up the win in a tweet.
