2: Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been tied to Cam Reddish for a while now and with Los Angeles amid yet another disappointing season, Rob Pelinka needs to make a series of moves. LeBron James delivered on bringing a title to the Lakers but after signing a two-year extension earlier in the season, LA needs to act fast.

With the Lakers being reluctant to part with their two first-round picks in 2027 and 2029, Pelinka should be more willing to send two second-round picks to the Knicks. Based on how things have played out in LA the past couple of years, Reddish’s struggles should be of concern, but with the right team, he could start to look like the player that many assumed he would be when he was drafted. Trading for him would be a low-risk, high-reward move.

The issue is that the Lakers organization has proven over the past couple of offseasons that they’re not committed to building a winning team. Reddish wouldn’t make Los Angeles contenders, but it could prove to be a step in the right direction.

If the Lakers can manage to get out of their own way, Los Angeles could finally end up agreeing to a deal with New York.
