As part of the second half of a back-to-back, the New York Knicks will return to MSG to host the No. 2 team in the Eastern Conference. The latest odds favor Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

New York’s coming off a much-needed win behind Julius Randle’s season-high 36 points (14-of-24) in a 140-110 win over Detroit. Randle showed out on his 28th birthday, and maybe that same energy will carry over to Wednesday night’s game. Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, and Quentin Grimes all added 16 points each.

The Knicks have a tough three-game homestand ahead of them with the Bucks, Mavericks, and Cavaliers all visiting NYC between now and Sunday. New York got the short end of the stick against Milwaukee, as the Bucks had two days off after beating the Mavericks on Sunday.

In the Knicks’ 119-108 loss to the Bucks on Oct. 28, New York was crushed on the boards by Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis, and Brook Lopez. Mitchell Robinson staying out of foul trouble will be key for the Knicks in tonight’s matchup.

Ryan Arcidiacono (ankle) will be out for the Knicks. As for the Bucks, they will be without Khris Middleton (wrist), Serge Ibaka (non-COVID illness), MarJon Beauchamp (non-COVID illness), Joe Ingles (knee), and Sandro Mamukelashvili (two-way).

While New York’s defense has struggled in the first quarter of the season, Milwaukee has the best defensive rating in the league. The Knicks got a good confidence boost after dropping 140 points on the Pistons on Tuesday, but that won’t happen against the Bucks.

As mentioned, Robinson staying out of foul trouble will be key tonight. In New York’s previous loss to Milwaukee, he picked up five fouls in 20 minutes of play but still managed to snag nine rebounds.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 30.9 points per game, the fourth-best in the league. It’s impossible to contain Giannis, but the Knicks’ defense will need to look a lot better than it has against playoff-level teams for New York to have a chance to win.
