In the second half of a back-to-back, the New York Knicks (4-4) will host the defending Eastern Conference champions at MSG. The latest odds favor Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics (5-3).

Before traveling to Philadelphia, New York was on a three-game losing skid. Against a Sixers team without Joel Embiid and James Harden, the Knicks were able to pull out a 106-104 win. With Mitchell Robinson (knee) out in the second half, Tom Thibodeau deployed different rotations, even incorporating Julius Randle-Obi Toppin minutes.

The Celtics also played on Friday, and like the Knicks, they got a win. After losing to Chicago over a week ago, Boston got a 123-119 win over the Bulls. Unsurprisingly, Tatum was the Celtics’ leading scorer with 36 points (8-for-23).

If the Knicks play against the Celtics like they did against the Sixers, the night could turn into a disaster. Will New York find a way to pull off a win? Or will Boston prove to be too much?

New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics Odds, Spread, Over/Under

Knicks Injury Report

Mitchell Robinson didn’t play in the second half of New York’s win on Friday due to a sore right knee, and he’s out for Saturday’s game. Quentin Grimes (foot) is also out for the Knicks. The Celtics will be without Al Horford (back), Robert Williams (knee), and Danilo Gallinari (knee).

New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics Prediction

New York might’ve gotten a win on Friday night, but it was ugly. If the Knicks look anything like they did against the Sixers, it’s going to be a wrap. The Celtics are a far more disciplined – and simply better – team than the Knicks.

If Thibodeau puts New York’s best players on the floor, this could end up being a close game. But based on how the Knicks have performed over the past week, it’s safe to assume that Boston will win this one.
