3. Potential history at MSG against the Knicks

Last season, we saw now four-time NBA Champion Steph Curry break the all-time record for most three-pointers in an NBA career during the Warriors’ game at Madison Square Garden.

Curry surpassed former record holder Ray Allen with a step-back three from the right wing. What made the moment even more special is that the record was broken in the confines of MSG.

While it may not be a Knicks record, as a fan of basketball and the NBA, you have to appreciate the greatness of these players.

The Knicks’ schedule could line them up for a similar scenario to last season when the Lakers come to visit the Garden on Jan. 31, 2023. LeBron James has undoubtedly had a great career and could put the icing on the cake in his 20th year in the league. In recent years, James has continued his scoring tear, moving up the ranks of the NBA All-Time Scoring List.

As it stands today, James is second overall on this list, trailing NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar by a mere 1,325 points.

Since his rookie year, LeBron has never averaged under 25 points per game. If he were to keep that up this coming season, there’s a chance that he would surpass Kareem in January. With the Knicks scheduled against the Lakers at MSG at the end of January, everything points to another historic record being broken at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

From the Knicks’ perspective, it’s a great moment for all fans of the sport to witness.

But heading into the All-Star break, this could give New York some fire to finish out the season strong after seeing a player like LeBron find success time and time again throughout his career.

With an intriguing Knicks schedule, it will be a season to remember in many different regards. With new and returning faces on the squad, the hope is that New York will be able to return to title contention above everything.
