Cade Cunningham

Last year’s number one pick was riddled by injuries, but Cade Cunningham is going to have something to prove this season since he is fully healthy.

Just like Morant was injured in his first matchup against Brunson, Cunningham was injured the first time the Pistons played the Mavericks as well. Brunson started and scored 21 points in a 30-point victory.

In the second game, Cade was in the starting lineup and put up 25 points while Brunson had 24 points with a +/- of +22 in a win. He’ll see Cade four times this year. Although, I’m sure Brunson won’t be the primary defender on Cunningham, they’ll meet eye to eye on a few possessions.

Cole Anthony

Cole Anthony has been subject to injuries since he has come into the league as well. The former lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has shown he can produce at this level. When the Magic faced off against the Mavericks last season, Brunson scored 19 to go with zero turnovers in a win for Dallas. Anthony was held to 12 points with a -15 while on the court.

The Magic won their second matchup with Anthony scoring 16 points while Brunson had 15. He is another fiery young point guard that Brunson will have to face four times this season.
