The New York Knicks will face the Brooklyn Nets one last time during the 2021-22 season on Wednesday night. The 35-44 Knicks are in 11th place in the East and the 41-38 Nets are in eighth.

On Sunday, New York broke its two-game losing streak with a 118-88 win over Orlando. RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 27 points (9-of-20) and Obi Toppin had a career-high 20 points (7-of-16) and eight rebounds. Immanuel Quickley recorded his first triple-double with 20 points (8-of-19), 10 rebounds, and 10 assists off the bench.

On Tuesday night, Brooklyn defeated Houston, 118-105. Kyrie Irving, who has yet to play against New York this year, led the Nets with 42 points (13-of-24) and Kevin Durant had 18 (4-of-13).

New York’s 0-3 against Brooklyn this season, with the last matchup taking place on Mar. 13. The Nets got the 110-107 win over the Knicks behind Durant’s 53 points. Julius Randle, who’s out for the remainder of the year, led New York with 26 points.

Will Barrett and company be able to help spoil Brooklyn’s hopes of remaining in eighth place ahead of the play-in tournament?

New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets prediction

New York has the chance to push Brooklyn back down in the conference standings, which is what fans are hoping for. The Knicks have the upper hand too because the Nets are in the second half of a back-to-back.

Brooklyn’s had its fair share of struggles, and while it wouldn’t be surprising if a young New York team gets the victory tonight, I believe that the Nets will win. Opposing stars always seem to have their best games in Madison Square Garden, and after last night’s contest, I think that Durant’s going to end up taking this one over.

We’re taking the Nets -5 and over 229 points.

Brooklyn 119, New York 113.
