Should the NY Knicks trade Kevin Knox?
Kevin Knox is as polarizing a figure for the Knicks as any in recent history.
So many people believe that he, like many other rookies drafted by the team in the past 5 or so years was a victim of the ever-changing front offices and coaching staffs that the Knicks have dealt with as of late.
Others think he’s just a bust.
Regardless of what your opinion on Kevin Knox is, the fact remains that he’s only been getting meaningful playing time when it’s in the absence of others due to either injury or health and safety protocols.
And this has been the case for the better part of the last two seasons.
Whether he’s traded at this year’s deadline or re-signed during the offseason, all I know is that if Kevin Knox was to ever find success in the NBA, I doubt it’s with the Knicks.
He’s on an expiring deal this season, which could be attractive for a team looking to dump a player on a multi-year deal that doesn’t fit their current timeline, ala Eric Gordon and Houston for example.
Or the Knicks could potentially re-sign Knox to a cheap, 2 or 3-year contract in the offseason with the intention of moving him as a salary filler when they ultimately look to deal for a star player.
Either way, I don’t think he fits within this organization’s short or long-term plans.
