Would you consider this Myles Turner trade for the NY Knicks?

I hate to keep beating a dead horse with these hypothetical Myles Turner trades, as Daily Knicks has covered this topic extensively over the last few months.

Additionally, there were rumors in the offseason that the Knicks were checking in with Indiana about Turner’s availability, and obviously, New York wasn’t willing to pay the price they were asking back then.

But hear me out.

Indiana stinks, yet again. The roster just doesn’t work and ever since Victor Oladipo left, they’ve seemingly been getting worse and worse.

A few years ago, they were a bright, young, budding team in the East but now they’re a shell of their former selves.

I think it’s finally time to cut the cord on some of these guys and start over anew.

If you told me 3 years ago that a team trading Kemba Walker would have to add in additional pieces in order to grab Myles Turner, I’d have thought you had serious mental issues and were in need of therapy.

But alas, it’s what would be the case.

Maybe it’s my Knicks bias but if the team were to deal Mitch and Kemba (and throw in Knox to match salaries) for Turner, I’d still want at least a future, unprotected first in the deal…otherwise I would think the Knicks were getting hosed.

I’ve gone into full detail too many times to count in previous articles on why I think Myles Turner would be a tremendous fit on the Knicks, so I’m not going to do that again here.

But what I will reiterate for the 173rd time is that Mitchell Robinson is a free agent by the end of this year, and an unrestricted one at that.

If the Knicks and Robinson’s representation can’t come to an agreement on a number, it would behoove the team to move on from him and get something rather than lose him for nothing.

Is Myles Turner a better player than Mitch is today? Yes.

Do I think Mitch can eventually become a better player than Turner is today? Also yes.

I’m only doing this deal if Mitch doesn’t want to re-sign with the Knicks and for no other reasons.

Next. This 3-team trade would make NY a Championship Contender. dark
