Could Zion Williamson force his way to the NY Knicks?

In today’s NBA, it’s common to have guys team-up that are friends outside of basketball and spend a few years together to chase a few rings.

It’s far less common for them to be absolute best friends that played in college with one another.

Bringing Zion Williamson to the Knicks to play with RJ Barrett seems all but destined to happen in the near future.

If this video doesn’t prove it, I don’t know what else could.

Between witnessing Zion visibly unhappy when the Knicks won the 3rd overall pick instead of the 1st, to watching his face light up when talking about how much he enjoys playing in Madison Square Garden, we could all tell Zion’s heart is set on playing for New York one day.

On top of that, just back in June of this year, a report out of The Athletic (subscription needed) suggested that Zion’s family members were “unhappy about his situation in New Orleans”.

As if we were all born yesterday and this wasn’t Zion himself speaking directly through his family…

After a subpar offseason by David Griffin and Co., the clock is ticking for New Orleans to surround Zion with a winning roster.

If not, I think Zion will threaten to leave after his 5th season.

I believe if there’s any player in the league today who’s currently on a rookie contract that could opt to play on his qualifying offer instead of accepting a max contract and still get the bag no matter what happens in that 5th season, it’s Zion.

We’re talking about the most hyped high school basketball player since LeBron James himself.

In just his second season, at age 20, he managed to put up some eye-popping numbers.

A whopping 27 points, 4 assists, and 7 rebounds while shooting a mind-blowing 61% from the field.

Zion coming to play with his best buddy, RJ would be one for the record books.
