NY Knicks: Predicting contract extensions that 3 key role players will get
Being a fan of the NY Knicks has maybe never been more fun than it is today.
Although the Knicks took a brutal loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night, there’s a lot to be excited about both during this year’s playoffs and for the future.
The beauty of what we as fans have on our hands is that the Knicks currently have the lowest payroll in the league, tons of cap space, and a plethora of draft picks over the next several years.
Safe to say, success is going to be something we get used to for a little while.
Now, as far as Sunday’s game goes, when your team’s two best players in RJ Barrett and Julius Randle both have down games and you still lose by just 2 points, it’s promising that a bounce-back game is due.
Even with those down performances by New York’s star attractions, it was the role players who not only kept the Knicks in the game but also gave the team a legitimate shot at winning Game 1 of the series.
What extensions should the NY Knicks give to Alec Burks, Reggie Bullock, and Derrick Rose?
Guys like Alec Burks and Derrick Rose really stepped it up, as we’ve seen both do so many times in the past.
Burks has been considered as a “major key” in whether or not the Knicks do find success in this year’s playoffs and I’ve even written about how I would have liked Rose to start over Elfrid Payton during the postseason games.
Alec Burks led the charge to the tune of 27 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds…
He really put the team on his back.
Derrick Rose chipped in with 17 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds on the game and came up in the clutch on numerous possessions.
While everyone is concerned about what kind of extension Julius Randle is to receive in the near future, I’m more focused on keeping the continuity of this roster intact and what it’ll cost to keep the key role players rocking an orange and blue jersey.
