As any loyal Knicks fan knows, we tend to think about the draft while the season is still going on because we usually have no business even sniffing post-season basketball.

Knicks and draft picks – not something we enjoy to look back at our history on. But that was the old Knicks… right?

Sure, selecting Obi Toppin at 8 has not panned out as we initially thought, but Immanuel Quickley’s surge of play surely makes up for that.

Like Julius Randle and his son have been saying, “WE HERE”!

The Knicks are currently in the four seed… yes the four seed, in the month of May, who would have thought??? The draft is still an exciting topic to discuss and you will never take that old Knick fan out of me.

The NBA is unique with its draft in only having two rounds, so teams should be able to find talent from top to bottom.

The Knicks will have options in the 2021 NBA Draft

So let’s take a look at the upcoming 2021 NBA draft and how the Knicks are approaching it as of now.

The Knicks hold four picks in total, two in the first round, one being their own and the other coming from the Dallas Mavericks, thank you Kristaps Porzingis!

The Knicks also have two second-rounders as well which should not go unnoticed. The Knicks have shown us they are starting to find late talent in the draft with Immanuel Quickley and Mitchell Robinson.

It finally seems like we are establishing a culture here in New York City and building that foundation for years to come.
