The NY Knicks recently signed both Norvel Pelle and John Henson to 10-day contracts to help fill the gap left by Mitchell Robinson’s recent injury.
Since then, Pelle has proven that he’s a more than capable center in limited minutes behind Nerlens Noel and Taj Gibson.
Unfortunately, we never got to see much of John Henson as he got hurt just 2 days into his 10-day deal and the Knicks will be dumping him soon.
With that being said, there’s going to be a new roster spot opening up once Henson’s deal expires.
The Knicks were never going to keep both Pelle and Henson so I would have to imagine the next step is to look for backcourt depth.
As of now, the team’s 3rd unit consists of just Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox who are still valuable assets to have, and the newly-signed Norvel Pelle.
Adding another veteran player or even two could help them down the stretch because it’s looking more and more likely that the Knicks will be making a significant playoff push.
Who should the NY Knicks offer a 10-day contract to help fill out the roster?
Even if whoever they sign doesn’t get any substantial minutes between now and whenever the Knicks make their exit during playoff time, bringing in more veteran leadership can only help the young pups on the roster and those who are seeing their first postseason minutes of their careers.
Aside from just being a veteran presence, it would be wise if those who are brought on can quickly buy into Coach Thibs and his philosophies.
Bringing in scorers who can shoot the ball well should also be of priority.
Here are 3 players the Knicks could potentially bring in on 10-day contracts.
