The last shooting guard I am going to look at in my series of NY Knicks trade articles is Victor Oladipo. In order to be realistic about the required compensation for Victor Oladipo, we need to understand the market for him. But it doesn’t mean that I think the NY Knicks should pay it, just understand what it is. It’s up to you the fan to decide if you think it’s worth it. A good example is Gordon Hayward’s free agency. Most Knicks fans were on board with signing him until Charlotte came offering 4 years/$120M.

While Oladipo is considered the second-best shooting on the market after Bradley Beal, I don’t see Houston getting as many competitive offers for him as Buddy Hield and Evan Fournier’s teams will get for them. The main reason for that is the uncertainty of resigning Oladipo.

NY Knicks: Who’s The Competition For Oladipo?

Everyone knows that Victor Oladipo wants to play in a major market, so small market teams know he is just a rental for them. He reportedly already turned down an extension offer from the Houston Rockets. Then there is the money, he wants to get paid, especially after recovering from a career-threatening quad injury at age 26.  For those reasons, he is a riskier acquisition than Hield or Fournier. With that said, let’s take a look at what the best offers might be for Oladipo in order to understand what the Knicks would need to offer.
