NY Knicks likely Trade Target #2 – Norman Powell

A newer name on the Knicks’ potential radar, Norman Powell is someone I’ve written about trading for recently.

I love the idea of bringing Powell to the Knicks as he fits the bill for a Tom Thibodeau-ran team.

Prides himself on his defense first and foremost.

Recently, he’s upped his scoring ability by a wide margin and would be a tremendous fit next to RJ Barrett and Julius Randle.

His price tag may be a little higher than I would personally like but if Leon Rose could work out a fair trade with the Raptors, he’d be a welcome addition to the team.

Similar to Victor Oladipo, it would depend heavily on what his asking price would be for his next contract.

Seeing how the sample size of his increased offensive numbers is small, Powell probably won’t demand as much as Oladipo would on the open market.

He’s also just not as big a name as Oladipo is, so as silly as it sounds, that’s definitely a factor.

Even though Powell is objectively a better player than Victor Oladipo is today, The Knicks would almost definitely get a better deal for Powell’s services.

I’m all in on Norman Powell. The guy is a winner and the Knicks should do what they can to get him on the roster today.
