Knicks: Comparing Immanuel Quickley’s ceiling to other NBA Players

At first glance, the New York Knicks appear to be amongst the biggest winners of the 2020 NBA Draft. The team was able to land National College Player of the Year Obi Toppin despite holding the eighth overall pick. Additionally, the franchise landed sharpshooter Immanuel Quickley after a trade for the 25th overall pick.
While much has been made about the high-flying Toppin, Quickley came in as more of an unknown commodity. The Kentucky guard already has the ideal skill set to thrive in the modern NBA so what can Knicks fans expect from their newest shooter long-term?

Immanuel Quickley vs Troy Daniels
This level of talent should be the floor for a player like Quickley. While Troy Daniels may not carry the star power or name recognition as the other players on this list, his shooting skills allowed him to carve out a nearly decade-long career.
The veteran played a key bench role as a source of instant offense for each of his respective teams. The 40% career three-point shooter was particularly effective during his stints with floor spreading teams like the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns.
Quickley has the touch to play a similar role with very little development. If he is able to earn consistent minutes, there is every reason to believe he too can provide a scoring boost off the bench as early as his rookie campaign. As an added bonus, his length should also allow him to make more of an impact defensively.
While Daniels was able to compile a respectable professional career, Knicks fans can be reasonably optimistic that their new guard can surpass this role and rise to the level of a player like…
