For Hiring Thibodeau

3) Defensive Mind coach/Culture Change

With The Last Dance airing on ESPN, the nineties Knicks were front and center in last week’s episode, so I am sure many fans would love to see those kind of teams back at the Garden.

Thibodeau could bring that hard-nose, defensive-minded culture back to New York. You saw it when he was the defensive coordinator for the Boston Celtics team that won the title and the Bulls teams that competed with the LeBron James-led Miami Heat.

During his time with the Bulls, Chicago was tops in the league in opponent points allowed per game (92.6) and opponent field goal percentage (43.2%). The Knicks lack an identity and Thibodeau would provide that from DAY 1. A team that will play hard and play defense.

4) Wants to be the Knicks Coach

This cannot not be understated. Right now, the Knicks are not an attractive destination. If a coach with some pedigree and success in the NBA wants to come here, the team should be listening. Tom Thibodeau clearly wants the job. That little extra of wanting to work in New York has to be a good thing. You know he is going to try really hard to be a success and bring winning back to the Knicks.
