Kristaps Porzingis’ return to Madison Square Garden highlights the remaining November schedule for the New York Knicks.

A 1-6 start to the season already has the New York Knicks reeling. Losing to the lowly Sacramento Kings and in a competitive game to the Boston Celtics highlight the early trek through the November schedule, which features plenty of winnable matchups. However, the Knicks have not proven their ability to come through more than once.

What does the rest of this month hold for the Knicks? Let’s take a look:

Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Pistons

At a 3-4 record, Detroit has maintained a similar pace to last season. Blake Griffin remains out due to injury, but Andre Drummond‘s monstrous 22.1 points and 18.7 rebounds per game have led the way.

Friday, Nov. 8 at Mavericks

The anticipated first game against Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks will try to combat their former would-be face of the franchise. Do not forget about Luka Doncic, either. This is not the most heralded matchup of the two, though, since Dallas will host this game.

Sunday, Nov. 10 vs. Cavaliers

The young Cavaliers have scoring guards and a rejuvenated Kevin Love, and Tristan Thompson is playing over his head. This should be a winnable game for the Knicks, however, at home.

Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Bulls

As of Nov. 4, the Bulls are the Knicks’ only win of the season. The three games between their rematch could maintain this, so staying at just one victory by Nov. 12 would signal a potential doomsday scenario for the 2019-20 campaign.

Thursday, Nov. 14 vs. Mavericks

Porzingis’ return to Madison Square Garden will spark plenty of emotions from Knicks fans, after two-plus promising years and an unceremonious departure from the franchise in January 2019. TNT will also broadcast this in one of New York’s few nationally televised games of the season, so it will be in the public eye.

Saturday, Nov. 16 vs. Hornets

So far, the Hornets have not been terrible, holding a 3-3 record. PJ Washington‘s surprise play as a rookie has brought them up a level, and Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges have had moments. Whether this continues by Nov. 16 is unknown.

Monday, Nov. 18 vs. Cavaliers

Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 76ers

A road trip to Philadelphia gives the Knicks their most difficult test of November. They do not have someone to combat Ben Simmons, and Mitchell Robinson has the task of containing Joel Embiid. As with the 2018-19 season’s games, this could be a blowout.

Saturday, Nov. 23 vs. Spurs

The second of two in-season matchups with San Antonio, the Knicks will host the Silver and Black a home and look for a redemption win from opening night.

Sunday, Nov. 24 vs. Nets

The Knicks welcome Kyrie Irving‘s Brooklyn Nets to MSG for the first time this season. A brewing rivalry, it should feature a red-hot crowd and plenty of on-court chirping between both teams.

Wednesday, Nov. 27 at Raptors

This first trip north of the border pits the Knicks against the NBA’s reigning champions. Kawhi Leonard is no longer in town, but this is more than a competitive team, led by Pascal Siakam‘s 26 points per game and Kyle Lowry‘s 24 points.
