The New York Knicks will have the second of their home-at-home stand with the Washington Wizards on Friday, Oct. 11. A look at the game information for this matchup.

Monday night started the preseason properly for the New York Knicks, defeating the Washington Wizards on the road, 104-99. It was the first of a home-at-home series to open this year’s basketball slate, so they will turnaround for a matchup at Madison Square Garden on Friday, Oct. 11.

For 24 minutes, Marcus Morris was the best player on the court; his 17 points led the way and had the Knicks up by double-digits over the lowly Wizards. However, a confrontation and ball-boink on Washington’s Justin Anderson led to the veteran forward’s dismissal just seconds into the third quarter.

Suspension or not, Morris risked missing meaningful games for the Knicks. He also had four fouls before this, so it could become something to watch moving forward.

RJ Barrett had a rough first half, missing most of his shots, including from behind the arc. He struggled to find a rhythm and played much like those summer league performances. The second half sparked something, however, as the Duke product claimed Morris’ role as the best player on the floor, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists on 6-for-13 shooting.

The follow-up game will be interesting for Barrett. While consistent performances are not likely from a rookie, each game is a stepping stone towards his development for the short and long term.

Outside of these players, Taj Gibson stepped up for 16 points and nine rebounds. Likely a reserve, the 10th-year big man played well in place of Morris and proved more than capable of playing alongside Mitchell Robinson.
