The Michigan Wolverines are the highest-seeded team on the left side of the bracket. The perimeter stars are generating the most hype for their contributions, but the player who helps make the offense tick is modern big Moritz Wagner.

A stretch big who has dramatically improved as both a rebounder and a defender, the Michigan standout is a candidate to be a steal of a second-round draft pick.

Wagner is a 6’11” big with a high release point and an efficient outside shot. He buried 45 three-point field goals on 39.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc in 2016-17, and is up to 56 conversions on 40.3 percent shooting in 2017-18.

With a solid sample size to support the belief that he can consistently convert the three-point shot, Wagner could be an excellent fit alongside Kristaps Porzingis.

Wagner isn’t the most explosive of athletes, which could limit his ceiling at the next level. With Enes Kanter and Kyle O’Quinn both headed to free agency, however, the New York Knicks could certainly stand to add depth and potential at the position.

Wagner is a lights-out three-point shooter, a physical post player, and a high-level defensive rebounder whose competitive nature would fit wonderfully in New York.
