The Xavier Musketeers have been one of the most dominant teams in the country, and Trevon Bluiett has been the driving force behind their success. A senior shooting guard with an unstoppable jump shot, Bluiett has underrated NBA potential.

A likely second-round draft pick who should rise up draft boards as March Madness progresses, Bluiett got Xavier off to a powerful start to the Big East Tournament.

Bluiett annihilated the St. John’s Red Storm in the quarterfinals, putting up 27 points, seven rebounds, and one steal in 31 minutes of action. He shot 8-of-18 from the field and 4-of-11 from distance, also converting seven of his eight free throw attempts.

Bluiett’s fearless shotmaking enabled Xavier to run away with a lopsided 88-60 victory that will send it on to a semifinal clash with the Providence Friars.

Xavier is now 28-4 and Bluiett is now averaging 19.7 points per game. Beyond the numbers, he’s been one of the most reliable scorers in the country as far as clutch scenarios are concerned, with the ability to drive and shoot against virtually every defender he encounters.

If the New York Knicks are willing to utilize a second-round draft pick on a senior, then Bluiett could be an instant impact type of contributor.
