The Duke Blue Devils entered the 2018 ACC Tournament with a need for a victory. Defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels was quite the feat, but a recent loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies damaged Duke’s odds of being a No. 1 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Thankfully for Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils, it was all about Marvin Bagley III when Duke matched up against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the quarterfinals.

Bagley offered nothing short of a superstar-caliber performance, recording 33 points, 17 rebounds, four offensive boards, two assists, and a steal in 38 minutes of unforgettable play. He shot 15-of-23 from the floor, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 1-of-4 from the charity stripe.

Bagley’s free throw shooting continues to be an issue, but the Blue Devils’ resident superstar took over in an undeniable way against a solid team.

Bagley has been sliding down draft boards in recent weeks, due in some part to the breakout performances by the players who were previously behind him. He’s still a near consensus top-five pick, however, as well as one of the most well-rounded offensive players on the board.

If the New York Knicks are looking for a second star to place alongside Kristaps Porzingis, then going after Bagley would be a wise decision.
