They may play different positions, but Chandler Hutchison has the tools to be 2018’s Kyle Kuzma. The Boise State Broncos star has been overlooked in some circles, but he’s rising up draft boards due to his layered scoring ability and tremendous rebounding.

A fundamentally sound playmaker who can score in a seemingly infinite number of ways, Hutchison could be the missing piece along the wings.

Hutchison has the size to play either wing position at 6’7″ with a reported 7’1″ wingspan. He’s not an elite athlete, but he has a tight handle and knows how to play the angles, drive to the basket, and finish with either hand.

As soon as one assumes that Hutchison is simply a fundamentally polished player, he’ll pull out an acrobatic finish to remind one of his advanced ability.

Defensively, Hutchison has the tools to take on players at multiple positions. That, in addition to his solid shooting form, creates 3-and-D potential with the additional value of being able to create his own shot against athletic defenders in isolation.

Throw in the fact that Hutchison ranks No. 22 in the country in fouls drawn per 40 minutes and No. 37 in defensive rebound percentage, and the New York Knicks should have strong interest.
