How It Impacts The Knicks

As previously acknowledged, the New York Knicks have a prolific force at power forward in Kristaps Porzingis. Due to the fact that Porzingis is capable of playing both interior positions, however, that versatility is met with a need for stability and identity.

In order to help Porzingis maximize his potential, adding the ideal interior complement will be of critical importance for the front office.

Randle is currently averaging 20.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.0 offensive rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks per 36 minutes. Take that as you will, but on 54.3 percent shooting from the field, he’s beginning to realize his All-Star potential.

By placing a productive rebounder and skilled passer who can score in a versatile manner alongside Porzingis, the Knicks would more than fill a void—they’d diversify the offense.

Randle is polarizing, but his improvements from season to season have been criminally underrated. He’s capable of leading the fast break as a facilitator, rebounding at a borderline elite level, and taking his man off the bounce in the half court.

If Randle is willing to put in the work to solidify his jump shot, his abilities to create for his teammates and defend stretch bigs could bring the Knicks together.
