The New York Knicks have reportedly signed G League star Trey Burke. Here are five reasons to love the Knicks’ most recent personnel decision.

The New York Knicks have made a commitment to developing a formula for sustainable success. Instant gratification may not arrive in 2017-18, but the Knicks are steadily building towards the status of one of the most promising teams in the NBA.

As New York enters the second half of the 2017-18 NBA regular season, it’s beginning to make personnel decisions that support the long-term vision.

New York has spent the first 42 games of the 2017-18 regular season with a balance between veteran experience and long-term potential at the point guard position. 34-year-old Jarrett Jack has facilitated the offense, and 19-year-old Frank Ntilikina has become a rising star on defense.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the Knicks have added youth to the position in the form of 25-year-old point guard Trey Burke.

Burke has been one of the most dynamic players in the NBA G League this season. Through 26 appearances, he’s averaging 26.6 points, 5.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 2.7 three-point field goals made per game on a slash line of .488/.416/.831.

The question is: Why should New York Knicks fans be excited about the addition of point guard Trey Burke to the main roster?
