Player To Watch: Enes Kanter

All eyes will be on Carmelo Anthony as he squares off agains the team he spent the past seven seasons playing for. The more underreported story entering the game, however, is that another player will be facing their former team.

After spending the past three seasons as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Enes Kanter will debut with his new team against his former franchise.

Kanter was a featured player for the Thunder in 2014-15 and 2015-16, but fell out of favor with head coach Billy Donovan in 2016-17. It was a disappointing turn of events, as well as an outstanding opportunity for redemption.

Coming off of a wildly productive preseason, Kanter has the momentum and motivation necessary to put forth an outstanding performance against the Thunder.

The New York Knicks will have a tough time pounding the ball inside against Steven Adams, but Kanter will likely be up to the task. He practiced with and against Adams during his tenure in Oklahoma City, and is one of the best post players in the NBA.

Anthony will be the player whom the analysts focus on, but Kanter has a chance to get a measure of revenge in his own right.
