If not for the injury concerns, Michigan Wolverines star Caris LeVert would be a lottery pick in 2016. One could even make a case that he was on pace to become a lottery pick in 2015 before he was bit by the injury bug.

With a string of foot and leg injuries, however, LeVert has been bounced down to the second round out of fear of his health.

When healthy, LeVert is a dynamic playmaker who can spend time at all three perimeter positions. He has strong handles and above-average court vision; is a smooth athlete who can play above the rim or finish with creativity below it; and is an outstanding 3-point shooter.

LeVert has even developed into a quality defensive player, with the potential to become something special on that end.

Physically, LeVert has a dream build for both a point guard or a shooting guard at 6’7″ with a 6’10” wingspan. He’s also suffered multiple foot injuries, which is one of the ultimate red flags for a player at any position.

This selection would come with a significant measure of risk, but in the second round, the New York Knicks should gamble on a player who could actually be a difference-maker.
