4. Sergio Rodriguez, Real Madrid

Position: Point Guard
Age: 29
Slash Line: .484/.421/.841
Season Averages: 24.1 MPG, 11.8 PPG, 5.9 APG, 2.1 RPG, 0.7 SPG, 1.8 3PM

Sergio Rodriguez is one of the best point guard on the European scene. He may not be the athlete that the New York Knicks need at the point guard position, but Rodriguez has the perfect skill set for the Triangle Offense.

If you’re wondering why you recognize his name, it’s likely because the Spanish star played for the Knicks in 2010.

In 27 games with the Knicks, Rodriguez averaged 7.4 points and 3.4 assists in 19.7 minutes per game. He posted a very respectable slash line of .491/.347/.806, and accumulated per 36 averages of 13.6 points and 6.2 assists.

For those concerned with his age, 29, know that he’s one of the best players in Europe—today.

Rodriguez won the 2014 Euroleague MVP award, and won the Euroleague Player of the Year awards in both 2014 and 2015. He led Real Madrid to the 2015 Euroleague championship, and helped Spain win a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics and a gold medal at the 2015 Eurobasket.

Rodriguez is signed until 2018—thus, a ranking that’s far lower than his talent justifies—but if a buyout can be negotiated, it would be an intriguing route to pursue.
