5. Ekpe Udoh, Fenerbahce

For those who don’t remember, Ekpe Udoh was selected at No. 6 overall in the 2010 NBA Draft. His upside was heralded by the masses, but his immediate value was limited by his raw fundamentals.

In his redemption season with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce, however, Udoh showed how valuable he can be.

Udoh is an explosive athlete with positional versatility and the uncanny ability to redirect all shots sent his way. He stands at just under 6’10” with a massive wingspan that nearly reaches 7’5″, which gives him as imposing a physical build as it seems.

Coupled with his explosive leaping ability, it’s not hard to see why Udoh was once so coveted.

Signing Udoh would be a low-cost move that wouldn’t eat very much of the Knicks’ cap space. Adding him to the mix could shore up and diversify the defense, which is a necessary move.

Adding a player who can defend players ranging from the 3 to the 5 on a cheap and partially guaranteed contract would be a wise idea.
