For the first time since the playoffs, the New York Knicks and Heat will square off on Friday night in what should be a thrilling In-Season Tournament game at Madison Square Garden. New York is 1-1 in the tournament.
Miami is one of four teams in the East with a 10-5 record. The Heat are coming off a 129-96 win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday, while the last game the 8-6 Knicks played was on Monday in Minnesota.
RJ Barrett and Quentin Grimes have missed time for New York this season, but both are back healthy and in the starting lineup. Miami's injury report for Friday is much longer than New York's, headlined by Tyler Herro.
After going down in the first round of the playoffs against the Bucks, Herro missed the remainder of the postseason. Luck wasn't on his side to start the 2023-24 season, as he played in only eight games before sustaining another injury. Before getting hurt, Herro was averaging a career-best 22.9 points per game on 44.7% shooting from the field and 41% from three.
Tyler Herro's status for tonight's game vs. Knicks
Tyler Herro (ankle) is out. He sprained his ankle in the Heat's win over the Grizzlies on Nov. 8 and has been sidelined since. He's no longer in a walking boot.
