Is RJ Barrett playing tonight? Latest injury update for Knicks-Bucks Nov. 3
The debut of the NBA’s In-Season Tournament is here, and the New York Knicks will play their first game against the Bucks in Milwaukee on Friday.
Both teams are coming off disappointing losses, with the Knicks falling to the Cavaliers on Wednesday and the Bucks losing to the Raptors.
New York was without RJ Barrett against Cleveland, and it showed. The Knicks shot 34.8% (32-for-92) from the field and 16.7% (5-for-30) from three. Jalen Brunson (8-for-23) and Julius Randle (3-for-15) shot 11-for-39 from the floor.
Barrett tweaked his knee on opening night against Boston, and New York felt it would be best if he sat on the second half of a back-to-back. Tom Thibodeau said it was up to the medical staff if he suited up against Milwaukee. Hopefully, the extra day of rest paid off.
Barrett’s averaging 21 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists through four games, shooting 45.3% from the field and 42.9% from deep. In the past, he got off to a slow start at the beginning of each season, but that hasn’t been the case in 2023-24.
