The New York Knicks’ first game of the In-Season Tournament will come in Milwaukee on Friday against the Bucks. Along with Milwaukee, New York is in Group B with Charlotte, Miami, and Washington.

New York’s path to the knockout round got more challenging after the Bucks traded for Damian Lillard in September, but the team’s off to a 2-2 start to the season and is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Raptors. Milwaukee isn’t invincible, but if New York plays like it did against Cleveland on Wednesday, the Bucks will look invincible.

Even being in the same group as Milwaukee, Bleacher Report predicts that New York will advance to the knockout round as the wildcard.

B/R predicts NY will advance to knockout round of In-Season Tournament

Bleacher Report chose the Bucks to win Group B, with the Knicks making it through as a wildcard team. One team from each conference that finished second in its group with the best record will be selected as the wildcard.

The knockout round is single-elimination, and those games will be played on Dec. 4 and 5. Bleacher Report predicts that New York will lose to Boston in the quarterfinals because of the offensive issues the team has had.

If the Knicks were to make it to the semifinals, they would travel to Las Vegas. If they won the first-ever In-Season championship, each player on the roster would receive $500,000. That might not be enough motivation for players on nice contracts, but at least it’d give New York bragging rights.

After playing the Bucks, the Knicks will face the Wizards on Nov. 17, the Heat on Nov. 24, and the Hornets on Nov. 28. The games against Miami and Charlotte will be at MSG, meaning they’ll be played on an orange court.

Hopefully, the court isn’t an indication of how New York will perform.
