Laying out proposed Mitchell Robinson-Myles Turner trade

A simple Mitchell Robinson-Myles Turner swap would work, but draft capital would be necessary. In Bleacher Report’s mock trade, the Knicks would be parting ways with Mitchell Robinson and a 2024 top-10 protected first-round pick from the Mavericks.

This wouldn’t require New York to dip into its assets too much, and as bizarre as it may seem, it wouldn’t be a shock if Dallas ended up with another top-10 pick like last season. A full year of Kyrie Irving and a nonexistent defense could be enough to do the Mavericks in.

The Knicks would still be left with three other 2024 first-round picks: one via the Pistons (top-18 protected), one via the Wizards (top-12 protected), and an unprotected pick. Looking at where Detroit and Washington are predicted to finish in 2023-24, it’s reasonable to guess those picks won’t convey.

Now that the Bleacher Report trade layout is in place, it’s time for the most important question — Is this a deal the Knicks should make?
