1. Joel Embiid

Easily the biggest name linked to the Knicks recently, should Rose manage to snag the league’s reigning MVP at some point in the next year or so, it goes without question that his job status would be as secure as Fort Knox.

All summer long, rumors have been surfacing claiming that superstar Joel Embiid is unhappy with his current situation in Philadelphia, which, naturally, has sparked the conversation of him being a possible target for New York, especially when considering the relationship he has with Rose, his former agent at CAA.

Coming off an astonishing 2022-23 season, the big man finished the year off, averaging 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks while shooting 54.8 percent from the field. As a result of his efforts, the 29-year-old went on to earn his sixth All-Star and All-NBA nod and, as already noted, his first Michael Jordan trophy.

The bright lights of Madison Square Garden have been begging to consistently shine down upon a true top-billed talent since the departure of Carmelo Anthony back in 2017, and Embiid could be the new superstar basking in its glow.
