Some fans might still be reeling from the panic after it was reported earlier this summer the New York Knicks were involved in trade conversations for James Harden. The Sixers guard requested a trade after opting into his $35.6 million player option for 2023-24.
Harden has been at odds with Philadelphia since. With training camp around the corner, the Sixers will provide enough entertainment for the entire NBA. Harden’s already said he believes his relationship with the organization is beyond repair.
The 34-year-old wants a trade to the Clippers, and his stance on that hasn’t changed. However, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, LA was the one to cut off trade discussions for Harden.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on Aug. 12 that the Sixers had ended trade conversations regarding Harden (subscription required). As much as he wants out of Philadelphia, it doesn’t appear that will happen before the season starts.
