Philadelphia Sixers: Stability

Is James Harden going to play for the Sixers in 2023-24? Will he be traded before the season starts? Or midway through the season? How will it affect Joel Embiid?

If it isn’t apparent, Philadelphia’s future couldn’t be more uncertain. Teams are set to open training camp in a few weeks, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see how things unfold with the Sixers.

Truth be told, Philadelphia would be better off moving on from Harden and placing more responsibility in Tyrese Maxey’s hands. Daryl Morey is in a tough spot, as the Sixers need to get a suitable enough return in a Harden trade to still be in a position to contend.

The clock is ticking for Embiid, who will turn 30 toward the end of the season. He has his MVP title, and now it’s time to win a championship.

New York is lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right time to pounce on an Embiid trade. Not only would it help the Knicks if the Sixers took a tumble down the Eastern Conference standings, but it’d give Leon Rose and the front office the opportunity they’ve been waiting for.
