NBA MLK Day games: Full schedule featuring Knicks versus Magic

The NBA world was buzzing on Thursday as the 2023-24 schedule was released. The New York Knicks will play 25 nationally broadcast games, and although their game on MLK Day won’t be nationally televised, the team will be in action on the Jan. 15, 2024 holiday.

The Knicks played on MLK Day in 2023 and fell in a tough 123-121 overtime loss to the Raptors. RJ Barrett led New York with 32 points and seven rebounds, while Julius Randle posted 21 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists.

New York won’t host a division rival on MLK Day in 2024, but the Knicks will play a young conference rival.

  • Rockets at Sixers (1 p.m. ET on NBA TV)
  • Pelicans at Mavericks (2:30 p.m. ET)
  • Magic at Knicks (3 p.m. ET)
  • Pistons at Wizards (3 p.m. ET)
  • Spurs at Hawks (3:30 p.m. ET on TNT)
  • Warriors at Grizzlies (6 p.m. ET on TNT)
  • Bulls at Cavaliers (7 p.m. ET)
  • Heat at Nets (7:30 p.m. ET)
  • Celtics at Raptors (7:30 p.m. ET)
  • Pacers at Jazz (9 p.m. ET)
  • Thunder at Lakers (10:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV)

Including the two games on NBA TV, four nationally televised games will be on MLK Day. The most exciting matchup is the Warriors at Grizzlies, a battle between what should be two of the top teams in the West.

The Knicks will host Paolo Banchero and the Magic at 3 p.m. ET on MLK Day. The game won’t be nationally televised.

In a 129-124 overtime win over the Warriors in 2020, Damian Lillard dropped 61 points (17-of-37 from the field, 11-of-20 from three) with 10 rebounds and seven assists. Lillard also shot a perfect 16-of-16 from the free throw line.

Lillard’s career-high is 71 points, which came earlier this year on Feb. 26 in a 131-114 win over the Rockets.
