OG Anunoby, Toronto Raptors

Even though it seems at the moment that the Toronto Raptors are going to enter the season without making a big move via trade this summer, that doesn’t mean that ship has entirely sailed for the franchise. The Raptors could still be extremely active heading into the NBA Trade Deadline season. And if so, one of the strong candidates on the team’s roster that could be moved between now and the trade deadline is OG Anunoby.

Anunoby isn’t new to the rumor mill. In fact, during last year’s trade deadline cycle, he was the one big name that many expected to be moved. In the end, the Raptors didn’t pull the trigger and kept him on the roster. However, heading into essentially the final season of his contract with the Raptors (he has a player option for 2024-25 that he’ll likely decline), Toronto has to make a decision on his future. The last thing the Raptors need is to lose him for nothing, as they did Fred VanVleet this past free-agency cycle.

If Toronto even has a small belief that he could leave in free agency, it would be best for them to gauge his trade value heading into the deadline. Anunoby is a two-way star that would make a ton of sense for the Knicks and a player that has been linked to New York in the past.
