3. Jalen Brunson must be given full control

Jalen Brunson was the true jewel in the New York Knicks’ 2022-23 season and one of the best stories in the entire NBA.

But as both Randle and Barrett can attest, Knicks fans can quickly turn on a player who is playing under expectations. While there isn’t much offensively that Jalen Brunson should be expected to improve upon heading into the next season, there is something both he and the organization should do.

Give Jalen Brunson the keys to the offense.

Brunson needs to be the undisputed leader of this team. Defined roles are important, and Brunson showed that he can reach special heights in the postseason coming just one posession away from willing the Knicks to a Game 7 against the eventual Eastern Conference champions.

He makes great decisions with the ball and rarely turns it over– something that can plague both Barrett and Randle at times. An aggressive and assertive Jalen Brunson can and should lead the New York Knicks to an exciting regular season and a loud postseason.
