2. JaMychal Green
While he may have played the majority of last season at center for the Warriors, JaMychal Green can easily still play the four if a team needs him to. If he were to sign with New York, the Knicks would have themselves a pretty solid backup power forward that could switch to center in the case of injury to Mitchell Robinson or Isaiah Hartenstein.
In addition to being a good backup four or five, Green is also a good shooter, something the Knicks could desperately use. Through 57 games last season, Green averaged 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game, shooting 54.0% from the field and 37.8% from three on 1.9 attempts. He may not be the defender he once was, but Green is still solid on that end of the floor.
Considering how mediocre of a three-point shooting team the Knicks were last season, they could use a guy like Green. The best part about Green is that he won’t need many minutes to be effective, as he played in just 14.0 minutes per game last season, just like Jones.
Green would fit almost perfectly with New York on both sides of the ball. Similar to Jones, he wouldn’t cost much at all to bring in. He’d be a much better fit and player than Isaiah Roby so fans should hope the Knicks consider signing the 33-year-old.
