#3 – April 9th, 2023: Toppin does it all versus Pacers at MSG

I told you we would be back here very soon. Speaking of very soon, just four days after Toppin scored 32 in 43 minutes against the Pacers on their home court, he upped the ante by dominating Indiana again, this time at Madison Square Garden.

Toppin scored 34 points in 37 minutes while stuffing the stat sheet. He tallied seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals as well. It was another super efficient night for Obi also, as he shot 56.5% from the field (13-for-23) and 50% from three (5-for-10).

He was the leading scorer in this one, followed by another 30-bomb from Immanuel Quickley and solid showings by RJ Barrett and Quentin Grimes. The Knicks defeated the Pacers in another very high-scoring contest, 141-136.

Possibly the most impressive part of this performance was Toppin’s ability to leave his mark in every facet of the game.

From the early beginnings of his Knicks career, Toppin displayed a great feel for the game by being active off-ball, making quick and smart decisions with the ball, and making impressive passes and reads both on the fast break and in the half court. And of course, Toppin has always been an amazing athlete and finisher. He even showed that he can heat up and have a sweet stroke at the three-point line. Toppin’s potential as an everyday NBA starter was on full display on that night.
