#1- April 10th, 2022: Toppin goes for career-high 42 points versus Raptors

The Toronto Raptors learned the hard way two seasons ago how much of a force Obi Toppin can be on offense in New York’s 105-94 win. In the final game of the Knicks’ 2021-22 season, Toppin gave fans something to cheer about despite the team missing the playoffs.

Toppin dug his claws into the Raptors and went prehistoric on his way to his first 40+ point game. His 42 points came on 16-for-28 shooting (57.1%) in 40 minutes of play. He shot a career-high 14 three-pt attempts and matched his career high of six made three-pointers that he set two days earlier.

Additionally, he had three dimes and secured a double double by cleaning the glass 10 times. I was almost tempted to put the Wizards game here at the number one spot due to Toppin’s superior efficiency in that game. However, I quickly realized that would have been a mistake. This feat against the Raptors is definitively the best game of Obi Toppin’s career.

Obi was able to be super-efficient, he stuffed the stat sheet, and not only did he drop a career-high and reach the 40-point mark, but he did so just two days after setting a career-high 35 points. If you want to see the hottest stretch of Toppin’s career, and the best moment of his Knicks tenure, look no further than this game. On this night, there was absolutely no stoppin’ Toppin.
