Knicks News: New York scouts Bryce James, reported free agent target off the board
The New York Knicks scouted one of LeBron James’ sons, and no, it wasn’t Bronny James. Bryce James, LeBron’s youngest son, made his Peach Jam debut this past weekend and there were several NBA scouts in the stands.
Along with the Knicks, the Lakers, Magic, Cavaliers, Mavericks, Heat, Suns, and Hawks were in attendance and “made James a priority on Day 1.” LeBron wasn’t in attendance, but he’s expected to be in South Carolina to watch his son later this week.
Bryce, who turned 16 on June 14, played at Sierra Canyon with his brother Bronny this past season but officially transferred to Campbell Hall ahead of the 2023-24 school year. He has two years left in high school.
According to The Athletic’s Jared Weiss (subscription required), the Knicks were one of the teams that are “in the mix” for Grant Williams. The 24-year-old entered the offseason as a restricted free agent. He was traded to Dallas on Wednesday as part of a three-team deal involving Boston and San Antonio.
Williams averaged 8.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 45.4% from the field and 39.5% from three in the 79 regular season games he played for Boston in 2022-23.
