2. SF T.J. Warren
The career of T.J. Warren has been a total roller coaster. Warren started off in Phoenix as a solid role player with some great athleticism. However, after he was traded to the Pacers, he emerged as an incredible shot-creating wing with some ability to space the floor. Since then, though, he has barely seen the floor, playing in just 46 games since 2020-21 due to various lower leg injuries.
Even when Warren has been on the floor, his play has been far from impressive. Unfortunately, he isn’t even worth the MLE at this point. Honestly, the Knicks should just avoid him entirely. Warren doesn’t provide anything the Knicks need as he isn’t a great defender and hasn’t shot above 34% from three since 2019-20.
In addition to this, Warren isn’t a very good defensive player, especially at this point in his career. At one point, he seemed like such a promising young wing. Now, he likely won’t be in the league in a couple of years unless something drastic changes.
The Knicks need three-point shooting and defense on the wing this offseason, and sadly, Warren doesn’t provide that anymore. Hopefully, he manages to turn things around, but his free agency destination shouldn’t be New York.
