If the Knicks really want to fix their three-point shooting problems this offseason, then they should do all they can to bring in a player like Seth Curry. Throughout his entire nine-year career, Curry has never shot below 40% from deep and that shouldn’t change entering the 2023-24 season.

He may not do much more than shoot threes, but with all of the defensive and playmaking specialists the Knicks have off the bench, Curry wouldn’t need to do more. The best part about Curry is that he can work excellently off-ball and with the rock in his hands. This offensive versatility is what the Knicks could use regardless of if he comes off the bench or starts.

Last season, Curry averaged 9.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 46.3% from the field and 40.5% from three on 3.8 attempts. This came in a season in which he played the last amount of minutes per game since 2018-19.

It’s doubtful that the Nets look to bring Curry back given the direction the franchise is looking to take. Wouldn’t it be nice to steal a top role player from the Knicks’ cross-town rival? The Knicks desperately need a shooter of Curry’s caliber so they shouldn’t hesitate to try and bring him in whether they use the MLE or not.
